Requirements of Registration and Graduation

Admission Requirements:

Students entering the B.Sc. in Physical Therapy must meet all the university and faculty admission requirements. In addition, the students must show interest in dealing with patients and working in hospital environments, which may appear during his / her admission interview by the admission committee at the department.

 

Graduation Requirements:

      The degree granted is Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. The duration of the B.Sc. in Physical Therapy program is for four years and one year obligatory “Internship Program”. In order for a student to qualify for the degree in B.Sc. in Physical Therapy, he / she must successfully complete the total credit hours requirements (137 study units) including university requirements (26 study units), faculty requirements (23 study units) and the departmental requirements (88 study units). In addition to graduate in Physical Therapy, a student must earn a minimum grade of “D” (at least 60%) or better in all required courses and successfully complete the obligatory internship training program.

 

The aims of the internship program are:

1.  Obtain further experience in relation to clinical reasoning ability and procedural activity.

2.  Acquire further skills in interpersonal relationships with both patients and staff members.

3.  Consolidate a sense of professional ethics and responsibilities.

4.  Allow each intern to spend a reasonable amount of time working at each departments of Physical Therapy.

 

     This is a 12-months internship for the students after fulfilling all credit hours successfully. The student will spend 3 months in each field of the 4 major fields in Physical Therapy (Pediatrics, Neurology, Orthopedics and Traumatology and Cardiopulmonary Disorders).
